1990s-2000s – The Corporate Years

Plot twist: Before becoming Whitstable's resident artist, Caroline had a completely different life!

She spent years as an international events manager, running marketing and events programs for major UK-based international IT companies across the UK, Europe, and US. Think global conferences, complex logistics, and yes... a serious spreadsheet addiction!

"I was coordinating events across continents and living in Excel – who knew that would be perfect training for running an art business?"

2000s – Amsterdam Chapter

Caroline then moved to Amsterdam for 5 years, taking on a worldwide events role. Canals, stroopwafels, and coordinating international programs – a wonderful blend of culture and commerce.

But something was stirring... the entrepreneurial itch was getting stronger.

2002 – The Great Career Change

Caroline returned to the UK, left the corporate world behind, and founded Prism Innovations Ltd on 18th March 2002.

2003 – BackBliss Takes Off

Remember struggling to apply lotion to your back? Caroline solved that! Her BackBliss applicator became a sensation:

2005 – Dragons' Den Drama

Caroline faced the Dragons with BackBliss. No investment, but the best advice ever:

"You don't need us... just get on the phone and make it happen!"

Spoiler alert: She absolutely did make it happen! 📞💪

2009-2012 – Royal Recognition

Caroline's artistic side emerged with intricate Windsor illustrations. The highlight?

Creating a special illustration presented to Her Majesty The Queen for her Diamond Jubilee in 2012! 👑

Her book "Windsor – Fun, Facts, History & Legend" sold 10,000+ copies. Not bad for a former international events manager!

January 2020 – Love at First Sight (Whitstable Edition)

Caroline fell head-over-heels for Whitstable and moved here in January 2020.

Timing: Just 8 weeks before the world stopped. Talk about perfect timing! 😅

2020-2022 – Pandemic Paintings

Stuck at home like everyone else, Caroline did what any sensible person would do – she painted her new town obsessively!

Streets, seascapes, landmarks... if it was Whitstable, it got painted. These works captured both the town's beauty and that strange, still pandemic time.

2023 – Whitstable Squared is Born

From those pandemic paintings came the inspiration for Whitstable Squared – a way to share the town's charm through beautiful prints and locally-made frames.

Soon, Caroline's original pandemic paintings will be available too, so you can own a piece of this wild journey!

Today – Living the Dream
